One day a friend posted on his Facebook timeline; he wrote, “good works are not enough, you must believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus to be saved”.
As controversial as it was, it was true. Sometimes we think we can really be good without the help of the holy spirit. If this is possible then there wouldn’t have been need for God to send Jesus to die on the cross.
God’s praise is made through the knowledge of death and resurrection of Jesus. It is the knowledge of Jesus that keeps you always at the mercy of God. By works shall no man be justified but by faith in Christ Jesus~Galatians 2:16.
In essence, despite all your good works, there is need to always pray to God. This is to remedy our imperfections as humans.
When your good work has been completed with prayers, God will position you for an encounter. These things attract the holy spirit.
What did Peter say? Acts 10:34-35~Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.
Cornelius was a centurion of Italian origin. He does the good work of helping the poor; but then he was a devout with his family and prayed to God regularly.
He kept doing this until God sent an angel to visit him in a vision. It was time for an encounter and the angel said to him Acts 10:4~…The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God
In your closet where you have lived and helped the poor and prayed to God regularly, do not stop doing these things because God is positioning you for an encounter. It may not look as if anything is happening now but know that you are making a memorial offering before the God.
In due season, you will receive divine visitation. The eyes of God see through the darkness.
Our good works and evil deeds and our worship and our supplications and our requests are known to him.
