Sometimes we become lazy to streamline our requests. God knows everything you need but he requires you to mention a need at any point of request.

Praying in tongues and making requests to God offers you the same spiritual edification but at different levels. When we ask of something, we are praying for God’s intervention on a particular need but when we speak in tongues, we are tapping into the power charge of God.

Your words are important when you want to make a request. Identify the reason why you call on God at any particular moment. God is more interested in your words and the simpler your requests, the more effective the answer.

King Solomon would have asked for a complexity of things but he only asked for wisdom and God gave it to him. One of the thieves who were crucified alongside Jesus asked that he would be with Jesus in paradise and it was granted to him.

Jesus had taught us to ask of anything in his name: John 16:23~At that time you won’t need to ask me for anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and he will grant your request because you use my name.

Even to the point that the Gadarenes asked Jesus not to enter their territory and Jesus turned to the other side.

What is that specific pressing need that you need to ask God? God knows all your needs, yet the bible says; ‘let your words be few’. Ecclesiastes 5:2~Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.

When Jesus called blind Bartimeaus, he knew he was blind but something else might be more pressing to him than his blindness. And so Jesus asked him; What do you want Me to do for you?~Mark 10:51. Bartimeaus replied that he wanted to see and Jesus healed his sight.

I tell you, it is one thing to have faith and another to choose your request rightly. God can deliver you from any form of trouble but sometimes he will allow you to remain in the struggle for a while.

It is also important to trust God. If you do not trust him there is no need to ask him for anything. James 1:6-8~But when you pray, you must believe and not doubt at all. Whoever doubts is like a wave in the sea that is driven and blown about by the wind. If you are like that, unable to make up your mind and undecided in all you do, you must not think that you will receive anything from the Lord.

May God meet us in the places of our requests.
