While it is on God to guide, protect and provide for us, it is on us to conform to the building of our strength.
Peter was the strongest witness of the Lord Jesus. He knew most of the secrets about Jesus. And Jesus found him worthy and declared him The Rock on which He will build His church.
Jesus went further to say that the ‘gate of hell’ shall not prevail over it.
Due to Peter’s level of knowledge of Jesus, he became so empowered and formed a formidable force.
While other disciples could flee from persecutions of Jerusalem, and while others could be killed or jailed so easily, he stood the test of time even in Jerusalem; challenging difficult authorities.
In the face of changing world philosophies and demands, the only thing capable of keeping us on guard is our knowledge of Jesus and the powers of His resurrection.
This is what defines the place of the sanctified. The place of conformity.
Philippians 3:10~that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed unto his death;
When Paul was delivering his final message to the people of Ephesus, he warned them of wolves who will rise among. They will want to change all the teachings and drive people away from conformation.
Paul would commit them to God: Acts 20:32~“Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
While God would guide and protect them, ‘the word of his grace’ will build them up to a place of inheritance of the sanctified.
It is important that we reach the place of sanctification because it is at this level of the knowledge of the Word that the gate of hell will be held off.
The wolves of this generation, who parade the alters to teach other wisdoms will be held off. The people in the streets and schools that teach all manner of jargons will be held off. But we must be sanctified through knowledge of the word of his grace.
May God grant us sanctification as we fellowship with Him.
