Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Power has a supernatural ability to intoxicate. When someone contacts power, he/she becomes difficult to control.
It does not matter the source of power. Even power of the Holy Spirit can intoxicate. But in all, it is better to get intoxicated by the power of the Holy Ghost than to get intoxicated by the demonic powers.
Nevertheless, do not get intoxicated by power. It is important due to it’s tendency of keeping you until your work is done.
One of the most important aspect of Paul’s mission was ‘fasting’ and so he was filled with the Holy Spirit and power.
But he did not allow himself to get intoxicated.
This is one of the reasons why preachers and ministers of God die before their times. There is so much we can do when we are powerful but we need to pay attention to the spirit of discernment in-order to get a perfect direction to our work.
Even Jesus, as powerful as he was would not enter into the territory of the Gadarenes. He did not just cross the sea to heal the man possessed by legion spirits, he would also want to enter the city. But he would not.
Mark 5:17~Then they began to plead with Him to depart out of their region.
Paul and Silas were kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the Asian territory.
They were also blocked by the Spirit of Jesus from entering into the territorry of Bithynia.
Acts 16:7~When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to.
It did not stop there, after Paul’s vision to go to Macedonia, they got to the city of Philipi but could not pray until they had gone outside the city gate.
It is true that there are places where Jesus will not want you to enter. It is also true that there are people who Jesus would not want you to lay hands upon.
It is true that there are things which Jesus would not want you to say at a moment though they are good.
Our life will span more if we can learn to discern the instructions of God at any moment in time.
May God give us grace to discernment to His instructions.
