At every given opportunity, humans have the tendency to expose their hidden desires.

Sometimes, it is a story that may have lingered overtime and has caused a line of believe among the people. They do not know the origin of the story neither do they ever want to learn about it.

It was a little more difficult task to be in the ministry of Jesus than we think. People are naturally disappointing with their thoughts; it does not matter how long you have been with them. That is why we should not make a religion out of Christianity.

And Jesus – having worked with his disciples and taught them for close to three years – got questioned from his own disciples about things which were totally out of the line with what he thought about them.

That was probably what they desired to see. It can also be a product of doubt.

Mark 1:6~Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”

This had been the thought about the Messiah by the people who crucified him. They made a mockery of him by tagging him “king of the Jews”.

Jesus rather came with the message of the kingdom of God and had preached and taught them for more than two years.

Sometimes, we tend to lose focus due to things which are totally unreasonable. Something – not as deep as the level which we have seen in God – driving our devotion away.

This is why; while some people still argue about the authenticity of the story of Jesus, others are casting out demons with the name of Jesus.

Seeing the miracles and powers in the name of Jesus, why do we still give in to stories that seem to create limitations about him? What did Jesus reply to them?

v7-8~He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

What we must consider important in our daily lives is praying for the holy spirit to dwell in us.

It gives us first hand experience that clears all doubt. We are called to be witnesses of Jesus not historians of Jesus.

May we receive grace to tap into the powers of the holy spirit that we exhibit the full stature of a witness.
