Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!I was a victim of this behavior a couple of years ago where I feel I can make certain declarations about myself and keep to it.
Being a disciplined man or a strict man can translate to wickedness if not guided by the holy spirit. I have heard a lot of people who speak and hold on to their words even when their words are turning out be detrimental.
The truth is this, no one can put the flow of nature to a stop. No one can tell the sun, the wind or even the seas how to act at any time. Lamentations 3:37~Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass, When the Lord has not commanded it?
Man is so limited even to a point that he will have to travail in-order to condition his environment. To be a particular type of person requires a particular type of behavior.
You cannot want to be used by God and still be enjoying going to night clubs. To condition your life in-order to get to a level of resolution requires moments of struggle; especially struggles with behavior.
Note that we are not trying to dismiss the power of grace.
Jesus – before he began his ministry- had to fast for 40 days in the wilderness in-order to get the level of power and conformation he desired.
Here is Peter who was full of flesh trying to place an assurance to his behavior no matter the situations of the future.
Mark 14:31~But Peter insisted emphatically, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the others said the same.
Jesus would look at him with pity. You have not seen, therefore you will not understand. Man who does not know where he came from or where he is going is bragging around thinking he knows everything.
Submitting to God in all meekness is a strong sign which shows that we have seen how limited we are on our own abilities.
The body is weak, and so the best we can do for our peace is to kill it for the purpose of energizing our willing spirits.
The power that is needed to proclaim good and remain peaceful is got from a place of travails.
May we obtain grace to travail over our weaknesses.
